Myofascial Release

Myofascial tissue is a tissue network spread throughout the body that connects muscles, bones, and joints. They are thick connected tissues to support your muscles. When you feel stiffness or pain in your body, it can originate from different tissues in the body. However, Myofascial pain is chronic and different from other types of pain as it arises where Myofascial tissues meet or cross.

The treatment method Myofascial Release is not like a massage where lubricants are applied to the body to relax your sore muscles. Myofascial release is like sustained pressure on targeted areas of connective tissues around muscles and bones. This pressure helps release restrictions in the connective tissues, reducing pain and increasing mobility. It is also suggested that the Myofascial Release may be helpful in a wide range of conditions, such as neck pain, shoulder pain, back pain, hip pain, or other areas containing soft tissue.

Benefits of Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a hands-on approach to manage pain and discomfort in the following ways:

  • It releases tension, knots, and even stress.
  • Reduces soreness and helps assist the tissue recovery process.
  • It enables the body to relax.
  • It improves mobility.
  • It improves circulation.

Symptoms We Treat

Don't live with pain any longer.

How Does Myofascial Release Work?

Our first session usually consists of an initial evaluation and a musculoskeletal physical exam to ensure that Myofascial Release is appropriate for you. It also includes strength and mobility testing and postural assessment that will help to determine the fascia's restricted areas. Gentle and sustained pressure is applied on the restricted points that help connective tissues to release. The session lasts between 30-50 minutes and depending on the severity of your condition our chiropractor will conduct the sessions. We may help you ease back into your normal life.
